NO TO THE NEW ABSOLUTE ISOLATION FOR DENOUNCING THE MURDER OF HER HUSBAND PhD ABIMAEL GUZMÁN REYNOSO

It has been proven that indefinite and solitary confinement is permanent torture and leads to the death of the prisoner, it means taking his life without law, that is murder!

The communists, the conscious proletariat and the masses of Peru and the world were shocked on September 11 of last year with the tragic news of the death of PhD Abimael Guzmán Reynoso, 29 years imprisoned in a military prison inside the Peruvian Naval Base, in conditions of torture, with an unalterable regime of perpetual and absolute isolation, And it was his wife, the also political prisoner teacher Elena who, overcoming her immeasurable pain, made the public denunciation of the murder that was being consummated, of the plan to disappear his remains and clearly identified those responsible by prosecuting the multiple occasions in which he was denied the change of his prison regime, the necessary medical attention, the family visit, etc. even more so with the information that had already been published in the media such as the newspaper Expreso and the weekly Hildebrandt en sus trece.

Each phrase spoken painfully summed up the set of arbitrariness applied on the part of the State, its police and armed forces against an unarmed person, deprived at all of defending himself. And for even greater cruelty, for having expressed her pain and just denunciation they sanctioned her: she was transferred to a maximum-security prison, isolated so that she would not see how sinister plans were consummated.

And as she denounced it, they did:

She was refused to even verify the remains of her beloved husband.

They did not give the remains to her or to whom she had named.

On the contrary, they enacted Law 31352, a monstrous law on kidnapping, cremation and disappearance of the remains of political prisoners promoted by a recalcitrant sector of Congress, together with the political police and supported by the consortium press, which pressured the Executive to make it succumb, and illegally applied it retroactively against the remains of Dr. Abimael Guzmán.

Those are real, concrete, irrefutable facts. It is not a person who "dies" in prison, it is the consequence of a plot planned to assassinate him.

That is the objective now of trying to transfer prisoner Elena Yparraguirre to the new special prison within the Ancón I Maximum Security Prison, built to place there the prisoners who have been in the military prison of the Callao Naval Base decades ago. It is to exclude them from the right to progress in prison treatment.

That is, in violation of the Constitution and the law, they will continue to deny them all their rights; and her’s in particular, after having been classified in the minimum security prison regime, they want to transfer her to a "special" enclosure with absolute and perpetual isolation, confine her alone, torture her without limit as they did with her husband.

New event of cruelty that we reject, we denounce it before public opinion and together with our people we come out in defense of our companion, our beloved teacher Elena. We support the corrective habeas corpus that she has presented and we demand that the Judiciary act independently, adjusted to the law and not at the request of the ultra-right and recalcitrant elements, that seek to strike exemplarily, as a lesson, blow after blow against the political prisoners so that the people do not protest, and thus cover up that in the background at this juncture they are in strong struggle for who appropriates the juicy profits of the cycle of high mineral prices.

Down with the policy of cruelty, hatred, and revenge against political prisoners!
